The Accounting Advisory Committee consists of accounting professionals from school districts and the Ministry of Education. The committee is chaired by the ministry and it provides advice to the Ministry on accounting and financial reporting matters related to school districts. The key focus of the committee at present is to make recommendations to the Ministry of Education on their planned implementation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals for school districts.

The six (6) BCASBO members of the committee are:

• Flavia Maller, SD39 (Vancouver)
• Allan Reed, SD57 (Prince George)
• Jason Sandquist, SD79 (Cowichan Valley)
• Simon Ayres, SD36 (Surrey)
